Dr. Karen MacNeill, Ph.D, R. Psyc

Dr. MacNeill has the unique experience of having both competed and consulted on the World Stage.  She is a registered psychologist and performance consultant with over 18 years of experience helping Olympians, organizations and business leaders consistently bring their best in high pressure situations. She has worked with athletes competing at the last 4 Olympic Winter Games, and competed herself at the international level for over a decade.  Dr. MacNeill applied her knowledge and expertise in her capacity as manager of sport psychology services for Vancouver Olympic Committee’s medical team at the 2010 Olympic Games.  Most recently, she was the Lead Mental Performance Counsellor for the Canadian Olympic Team at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Korea.

Ali Hasnian

Ali Hasnain is the Audit Project Manager with Ener-Controls Audit Services Inc.

Ali has over 20 years of Internal Audit and Measurement/PA expertise. From 2008 through 2011, Ali served as Team Lead of Production Audit at the AER, where he led the design and development of EPAP requirements and played the key role in leading EPAP education for producers in Alberta.

From 2016-2017, Ali was trusted by SK ECON to deliver EPAP training and program development for ECON staff in Regina.  Since 2011, Ali has assisted well over 200 producers with EPAP compliance, close to 20% of all producers in Western Canada.

Bruce Wilhelm – Director, Petroleum Royalties – Energy Policy Branch

Minerals, Lands and Resource Policy, Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources

Bruce is currently the Director of the Petroleum Royalty group within the Ministry’s Energy Policy Branch.  He has worked for the Ministry of Energy and Resources and its predecessors since 1990, working in numerous branches within the Ministry including Engineering Services, now the Resource Management, Petroleum Royalties, the Energy Development and Climate Change and Energy Policy.  Bruce was also a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the implementation of both Petrinex in Saskatchewan and the Ministry’s IRIS system.

Filmon Yohannes, Chairperson CAPP MRF Committee

Filmon is the Chairperson of CAPP MRF Committee. He is employed by Canadian Natural Resources Limited as Business Analyst-Special Projects. Canadian Natural Resources Limited is one of the largest independent crude oil and natural gas producers in the world, with balanced mix of Natural Gas, Light Oil, Heavy Oil, In-Situ and Oil Sands production.

Filmon has more than 22 years of oil and gas industry experience specializing in Royalty Compliance.  Prior to joining Canadian Natural Resources, He was the Supervisor of Royalty Compliance with Devon Energy.  He has also worked with Shell Canada Ltd. for 15 years holding various positons as Crown Coordinator, Finance System Analyst, Programmer and more.

Filmon was part of industry representative MRF NDA group. The group was formed by Alberta Energy to develop MRF policy joint with industry. He is also a long time member of the CAPP Accounting and Chairperson of the CAPP MRF Committee.

Kathy Luther

Kathy is the Land Compliance Manager for PrairieSky Royalty Ltd. which holds the largest independently-owned portfolio of fee simple mineral title and other oil and gas royalty interests in Canada.

Kathy has more than 30 years of oil and gas industry experience specializing in lease and royalty compliance.  Prior to joining PrairieSky Royalty, she was the Coordinator of Fee Lease Compliance with Encana Corporation.  She has also worked as a Natural Gas Marketing Representative for both Encana and PanCanadian Petroleum Limited and as an Engineering Technologist for NOVA Corporation in their System Planning Department.

Kent Geddes

Kent has 30 years’ of industry experience working in a variety of company size and has been both a Consultant and employee during this time.  Kent brings seasoned expertise in Allocations, GCA, Royalties, Joint Venture, System Setup and Production Accounting.  Kent is a CAPPA Instructor at both SAIT and MRU and is currently consulting as a Senior Production Accountant.

Kevin Pollock

Kevin is currently the Team Lead of Oil Sands Royalty Accounting at MEG Energy.  Kevin has 20 years of Oil and Gas production and royalty accounting experience both as an employee and as a consultant. Over the past 13 years Kevin’s career has been focused on oil sands royalty reporting, compliance and policy.

He Joined MEG Energy in 2014 after several years as a revenue and royalty consultant for multiple oil sands producers.  Prior to working as a consultant, Kevin led the oil sands royalty groups at Connacher, Cenovus and EnCana.

Kevin has contributed to key Alberta Energy oil sands royalty policy and reporting initiatives throughout his career. Involvement in consultations with Alberta Energy provides the context to understand why oil sands royalty reporting is critical to oil sands producers and the success of the oil sands royalty regime. Kevin is also a long time member and former Chairperson of the CAPP Oil Sands Royalty Committee.

Pascal Bonnet

Pascal attended the University of Alberta with a major in genetics. He spent 16 years in the analytical laboratory business starting with environmental work before transitioning into Oil & Gas in 1997 when he joined Core Laboratories in Edmonton ultimately ending in the role of Manager of Northern AB/BC Operations.

Pascal then joined Critical Control in the role of Director of Measurement Solutions providing lead development and implementation with :

  • ProTrend – Fluid Analysis & Measurement management software,
  • Development of Production Measurement Drawings services and
  • Integrity Services, which provides services in Corrosion, Risk analysis and mediation plans for pipelines.

Pascal left Critical in 2012 to join Cenovus Energy for the role of Production Measurement Analyst where he provided EPAP Auditing and Measurement support to all areas of the business, both in field Operational and in the office with Production Accounting.

Pascal recently moved to Torxen Oil & Gas as part of asset divestures and continues to provide measurement oversight and support to all areas of the Operations

Sue Wazny

Sue is a highly sought after speaker because of her energetic, humorous and engaging presentation style. Trevor Flood, Husky Energy & CAPP MRF Committee

Trevor sits on the CAPP MRF Committee. He is employed by Husky Energy Inc as the Team Lead of the Crown Royalty group. He was involved with CAPP throughout the 2015 Royalty Review process and the subsequent design sessions that helped build the reporting processes for the Modernized Royalty Framework Drilling and Completions Cost Reporting.

Trevor has 19 years of oil and gas industry experience specializing primarily in Royalty Compliance.  Prior to joining Husky, he was the Supervisor of Royalty Compliance & Equalizations with Canadian Natural Resources.

Wayne Olson

An experienced production practitioner with over 35 years’ experience garnered from various roles with a number of producers both upstream as well as midstream and within the service industry segments. Wayne has been an independent consultant from 2000 to current providing hydrocarbon measurement, allocation, auditing, business and IT/IS solutions to numerous clients in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) as well as recently in the international oil and gas industry.

Vijay is part of IHS Markit North American Crude Oil Markets team and is an integral part of the IHS Markit Oil Sands Dialogue. In addition, he supports the oil market analysis team with a focus on western Canada. He has more than 12 years of experience in upstream, midstream, and downstream global oil and gas economic evaluation. His expertise includes crude oil market analysis, macroeconomics, risk analysis, oil asset evaluation, technology, crude oil logistics, and Canadian energy and climate policy. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Vijay held posts at ConocoPhillips, Statoil, EY, and Bank of Canada.

Ross has been contracted by the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and the Explorers and Producers Association of Canada (EPAC) since November 2000, as Industry Manager at Petrinex.
