CAPPA Certificate Program Completion Requirements
Many students complete the program in less than 2 years.
Students formerly enrolled in the Legacy Certificate Program and bridging to the 10 Level Certificate Program will be required to complete the within five (5) years of start of enrollment under the old program. This applies to all Legacy students.
As of July 1, 2019, new students will automatically be enrolled in the in the 11 Level CAPPA certificate program. These students must complete all 10 levels within 48 months of first enrollment.
To earn the CAPPA Certificate, all students are also required to complete additional online training modules provided by Petrinex. (web-based reporting system). The fee for each course includes access to the online Petrinex modules.
The passing grade requirement is 70% for each module of the program.
Extension Requests
Students may request a one time extension for program completion by sending a written request to student@cappa.org explaining the reason for the request. The request must be received a minimum of three months in advance of their certificate program completion deadline.
The CAPPA Education Advisory Committee will review each student’s circumstance and a final decision will be communicated within 15 days.
Students should not rely on an extension being granted.
Application for CAPPA Certificate
Certificates are issued through the CAPPA office.
Student will need to apply to CAPPA to receive their CAPPA Certificate.
Verification of Proof of Completion (transcripts) for students transferring from SAIT is required before the application can be accepted.

CAPPA Student Membership
Students receive a discounted fee for CAPPA membership. Membership provides preferred pricing for CAPPA’s Career Professional Development (CPD) Program which includes Educational Luncheons, Seminars, Conference, Networking Events, Social Events along with Career Resources and Job Board.
