Looking for a job is a full time job. And when the economy takes a downward turn, job seekers need to get creative. How do you find a job, when the headlines are filled with news of layoffs, closures and cuts?
In this hour-and-a-half workshop, you will gain skills to refresh your job search and learn creative ways to seek employment when the market is tough.
Topics covered include:
- Steps to take after a layoff
- Considering all options
- Knowing your skills – and how to sell them – on paper, online, and in person
- Building connections in person and through social media
- The 80/20 strategy of networking
- Things to avoid
Presenter Bio:
Lise Stransky is a certified career development coach & adviser. She is currently the Senior Associate, Employment Initiatives for CAPPA and also the owner of her own career counseling company, Careers That Work For You. Lise has been helping job seekers and those in career transition for over 11 years.
Workshop fee:
Registrants will be charged $15, paid by credit card at time of registration.
Registrants in attendance will receive a $20 Starbucks gift card at the workshop (so your $15 back, plus $5).
- Cancellation policy – no refunds will be given when cancelling your seat after 48 hours (or less) prior to the event.
- After 48 hours prior to event and including no-shows, CAPPA retains your payment.
