• What the difference is between a Freehold Royalty and a Gross Overriding Royalty (GOR)
• What are Fixed and Sliding Scale Royalty definitions?
• How do deductions on Royalties work and where do we find the information?
• Common mistakes made when paying Royalties
• What is a Royalty Taken in Kind (TIK) and how should this work in your PA system?
• Do you pay Royalties on behalf of your Working Interest Partners?
• How to handle split Royalties (Freehold and Crown)

Seminar Format:

This workshop is an interactive, instructor-led session. Participants will develop an understanding of Freehold and Overriding Royalty Basics and Set up for Production Accountants by looking at specific examples and through class discussion.

Speaker:

Kent Geddes

Kent has 30 years’ of industry experience working in a variety of company size and has been both a Consultant and employee during this time.  Kent brings seasoned expertise in Allocations, GCA, Royalties, Joint Venture, System Setup and Production Accounting.  Kent is a CAPPA Instructor at both SAIT and MRU and is currently consulting as a Senior Production Accountant.

Cancellation policy:

Cancellations must be received by email to office@cappa.org in order to cancel event registration.

The following refund policy applies to this event:

Full refunds will be given if cancellation to CAPPA occurs prior to midnight on March 22, 2016

A 50% refund will be given if cancellation to CAPPA occurs prior to midnight on March 29, 2016

Refunds will not be given after February 19th.

A $20 administration fee is applies to full and partial refunds.

Registration, however, may be transferred to another attendee without an administration fee. Please notify CAPPA of the transfer to another attendee. The original registrant would be responsible to sort the payment out offline with the new attendee.
