Greetings from your Board of Directors. Having held our inaugural meeting after the AGM to welcome new Board members, elect Officers and assign portfolios, it is my pleasure to share the results with our members on our newly redesigned website;
Gavin Schafer (Crew Energy) – Board Chair
Bruce Maurer (Critical Control) – Vice Chair
Dawn McElligott (Trilogy Energy) – Treasurer
Lynda Sweet (Harvest Energy) – Secretary
Sean Nicholson (Trilogy Energy) – Past Chair
Gary Semeniuk (Shell Canada) – Director at Large and Chair of Government Liaison, Emerging Issues and Industry Committee
Kirk Thurbide (City of Calgary) – Director at Large and in charge of Board Communications Portfolio
Sheila McFadyen – CAPPA CEO and non-voting member of Board
Furthermore, Board members combine to make up the following Board committees; Finance & Audit, Board Development, CEO Performance & Review (Ad Hoc)
We’re also a great addition to any CAPPA function!
As such, it was our pleasure to connect with our members at the Conference and share our progress. It was especially rewarding to meet with a group of industry Stakeholders for breakfast and a roundtable discussion, prior to the Conference kickoff. This type of forum provides us insight into where we should direct our resources to manage industry challenges and opportunities. Our focus over the next few months will be to build a strong and diverse Board that can best advise the CAPPA office and seek out new horizons. Collectively, we need to reach out into industry and bring more great people and ideas to the table. CAPPA is re-branded, energized and setting the course for a strong future. If you are able and willing to contribute in any way, consider this your call to action!
Along with our Board endeavours, we are excited to participate in the upcoming CAPPA Honours, Awards and New Grad celebration (Nov 4th) as well as the Alberta Royalty Operations Information Exchange coming up on the morning of November 25th at Conoco-Phillips Conference Center in Gulf Canada Square.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Gavin Schafer
Board Chair
