This seminar answers some common EPAP operations questions, such as:

  1. Are we spending more on EPAP operation than is needed?
  2. Can we improve our EPAP operational effectiveness?
  3. Does our EPAP program leverage industry best practices?
  4. Why is the effort we are investing in CAI Report investigation producing more frustrations than improvements?
  5. Why are we receiving distracting workflow items from the Regulator?

The seminar will address best practices for:

  1. Conducting the evaluation of controls to ensure that the effort delivers the required level of assurance.
  2. Investigating and remediating items on the EPAP CAI Report by focusing opportunities for continuous improvement.
  3. Remediating not effective controls to improve business performance.

 

Seminar Description:

The Enhanced Production Audit Program (EPAP) created a focus on volumetric measurement and reporting over the past several years in Alberta. This same focus is just beginning in Saskatchewan. Driven by senior executives having to sign the annual EPAP declaration, this focus encourages operators to improve their processes and controls to ensure they are effective and efficient.

This seminar will improve the effectiveness of oil & gas industry staff in operating an EPAP program by using best practices utilized by leading industry operators.

Speakers:


Yogi Schulz is a partner at Corvelle Consulting. Yogi led the development of EPAP for AER and is now advising Alberta oil & gas operators on effective EPAP operations. More recently, Corvelle worked with the Government of Saskatchewan to develop measurement requirements based on AER Directive 017 and EPAP requirements based on AER Directive 076.

Mr. Schulz has 35 years of Information Systems experience of which over 25 have been spent as a consultant. Prior to founding Corvelle, he worked as a senior consultant with DMR Group Inc. He holds a B. Comm. from The University of Calgary, is a member of CIPS and holds its ISP designation. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Professional Petroleum Data Management Association.

Yogi has presented at many conferences including CAPPA and project management conferences. Yogi writes a monthly blog at ITWorldCanada.com. He has written monthly columns for Computing Canada and The Calgary Herald that address IT management issues.

 

Clay Long is a partner in Corvelle Consulting. Clay advises oil & gas operators on effective EPAP operations. Corvelle is working with the Government of Saskatchewan to develop measurement requirements based on AER Directive 017 and EPAP requirements based on AER Directive 076.

Clay is a senior IT management consultant and project manager with over 30 years of business and IT experience. With a focus on the oil and gas sector, combined with an extensive electric utility background, he has a broad range of industry experience.

Clay has led initiatives corporate strategic planning, software development & implementation, RFP creation & execution, project reviews and business case development. His work has allowed him to gain knowledge of upstream production accounting, SAGD construction & operations, records management, pipelines and drilling.

Cancellation policy:

Cancellations must be received by email to office@cappa.org in order to cancel event registration.

The following refund policy applies to this event:

Full refunds will be given if cancellation to CAPPA occurs prior to midnight on April 21 2016

A 50% refund will be given if cancellation to CAPPA occurs prior to midnight on April 28, 2016

Refunds will not be given after April 29th.

A $20 administration fee is applies to full and partial refunds.

Registration, however, may be transferred to another attendee without an administration fee. Please notify CAPPA of the transfer to another attendee. The original registrant would be responsible to sort the payment out offline with the new attendee.
